In 2018, the Ridge Meadows RCMP attended nearly 1,100 calls for
service that were related to relationship violence. These incidents
can have a devastating effect on families, including children who
witness or experience violence. The EVIR Committee wants to
shine a light on the issue of relationship violence in our city.
Our mission is to come together to raise awareness and provide resources for those affected by relationship violence. To achieve this, we are asking businesses on 224th to “light up” Maple Ridge with Lights4EVIR.
From September 26th to October 3 rd , 2019, businesses will dress their store windows with purple lights, which is the international awareness colour for domestic violence.
WE PROVIDE THE SUPPLIES
x1 strand of purple lights (70 lights C6 LED)
x1 15’ Extension Cord
x1 18 x 24 poster “What’s with the purple lights?” to place on your window
Material to hand out for those wanting more information about us and the event
Mini clear damage free clip to hang the lights
The Ridge Meadows Ending Violence in Relationships committee is grateful to the local businesses and organizations that participated in this years event.
We look forward to bringing this event to the community again next year.
