Who We Are

The Ridge Meadows Ending Violence in Relationships (RMEVIR) Committee represents agencies in the Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Katzie communities in British Columbia Canada who support individuals and families impacted by domestic violence and abuse.

The Committee utilizes an integrated approach to promote safe and healthy intimate relationships by providing support and education to professionals, individuals and families in our community.

The Committee envisions a community where all intimate relationships are healthy and safe. Through a coordinated effort the Committee hosts forums, training opportunities and awareness campaigns to fulfill their mission.

What We Believe

Relationship violence is a pervasive social problem which has a destructive impact upon families and the community.

Violence is causing or attempting to cause physical, sexual, psychological and emotional abuse, which may include but is not limited to intimidation, harassment, threats, stalking, financial abuse and intentional damage to property.

Individuals remain in an unhealthy relationship with an abuser for a variety of reasons.

What We Do

Training & Workshops

The EVIR committee recognizes that educating professionals about violence and abuse is an important measure in eliminating violence in our community.

Raise Awareness

The RMEVIR committee hosts awareness campaigns aimed at raising awareness about abuse and violence.

We recognize the unceded and traditional territory of the Katzie and Kwantlen First Nations.
